Terminator 4 Plot Details (SPOILERS!)

Don't say I didn't specifically warn you - it says "spoilers" in the thread name.

As we reported a couple of weeks ago, John Connor will not be the main character in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.

The protagonist of the next film - and, quite possibly, the entire new trilogy - will be somebody named Marcus, a human who wakes up fifteen years after SkyNet took over and joins the fight. Alongside him will be John Connor (played by Christian Bale) and a new character: Blair, a female helicopter pilot for the resistance.

Apparently, the Terminators popping up in the absence of the Governator will be the T-600s, the rubber skin Terminators. The action promises to be both huge and epic.

It was rumoured some time ago that the producers had been talking to Vin Diesel, and it was thought to be for a robotic role. But as it seems the robots will be rubber skinned, and this Marcus character is described as being 'Riddick-like', we can draw our own conclusions. If you're a betting man, I'd get down the shops.

McG - you'd better live up to your promises.

here are my issues with the terminator re-boot:  first off, McG...nuff said.  second, how can they possibly justify using john conner in a secondary (or less) role?!  a twenty year story buil-up, to see humanities savior rise, and come into his own as earth's hero, only to take a backseat to a 'riddick-type' guy?  that simply doesn't make sense.  the fans want to know about conner, and see him along his rise to leadersgip.  which leads to the use of christian bale as conner; how can they not utilize a super-talent like him to his fullest potential?  what a waste.  finally, they person who scripted the new terminator is also responsible for 'catwoman' among many other disasters.  this new series of terminator films has disaster written all over it.  too bad, cuz i've been waiting so long to see where it could go - and i know i'm not alone.

I have no hope for this, judging by the uninspired commercial, I mean film, Terminator 3.

Anybody know anything about the new USA TV series called Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles?

I mean, I think her son's in the show, and she's chased by terminators (specifically Simmer Glau from Firefly) . . . so why hasn't John ever seen a Terminator at the start of T2? Isn't it supposed to take place between films 1 and 2?

In regards to THE SARAH CONNER CHRONICLES I'm not certain but to do believe it takes place AFTER 2 but before 3.  What I do know for certain is that Summer Glau isn't the one whose chasing him but there to protect John Conner.

As for TERMINATOR 4 I think it'll be an out-and-out fiasco that'll cost two hundred million dollars to make and no one will go see.

It's not a horrible idea . . . but it's not great. And the addition of McG makes me sweat blood.

I can see this as a multiple character storyline, with other "saviors" prominent other than Connor, but I'd agree with JJ, pushing him even slightly into the background is like a big slap to the audience's collective fandom.

Vin Diesel will suck as a human, rock as a Terminator.

But my best bet is this whole thing will utterly fail.
