Pixar's next stroke of genius will hopefully be Wall-E.
 
The titular character is the last robot of his kind left on Earth, cleaning up all the shit we made with our consumerist ways. Dawn of the Dead this is not.
 
It's also a romance. With what I don't know.
 

I'm praying it will be better than the abortion that was Cars. For shame...

The love-child of Johnny 5 and I Am Legend will be released in summer 2008.

This is one of Pixar's original ideas from a single brain storming session near the completion of Toy Story. It is the last of their original ideas, which have been their best films.

I'm curious what type of film it will be, because the continue to swap genres around and completely redefine cartoon rules, which makes it ironic that you describe Cars as an abortion, because, believe it or not, it was their first "kids" film.

I also get excited when I remember they hired R2-D2 for Wall-E's "voice."

Hmm, I didn't know that actually! I thought in all honesty that Pixar films tend to be family films that everyone can enjoy, kids and adults alike. It was just Cars was SO disappointingly boring and predictable and just really, really lame. I think, the idea of "actual cars with faces" was never going to excite me in the first place because there's just something not quite "right" about that...
