I haven't seen the original, but apparently it is fondly remembered as a scary treat by a lot of those who saw it as youngsters. The plot is classic scary story stuff: a young girl, after moving in with her father and his girlfriend soon discovers creatures are living in the house with them. Originally thought to be friendly, she soon learns otherwise. The film stars Guy Pearce and Katie Holmes who play the couple, and Bailee Madison, best known for her role in 'Bridge to Terabithia', who is playing the young girl. Del Toro is producing and co-writing and directing is Troy Nixey, Del Toro's protege and first-time director.
