Fans of Doctor Who may be wondering what David Tennant has been up to since he left the show last year. Amongst other things, he's been busy with his role as Peter Vincent in the upcoming Fright Night remake, and here we have the first image of him in that role.

The original Fright Night is a favourite amongst vampire movie aficionados and an obvious choice for a remake due to the ever increasing tendency for remakes and the undwindling popularity of those blood sucking night lovers. The new version will stick closely to the original concept in which a teen named Charlie Brewster is convinced that his new neighbour is a vampire, though no one will believe him. Anton Yelchin, of Terminator Salvation and Star Trek fame, will play the part of Brewster. Alongside Yelchin, in an impressive cast, Christopher Mintz-Plasse is playing Brewster's best friend Evil Ed, Colin Farrell plays the vampire named Jerry, David Tennant will of course play the part of Peter Vincent who helps Brewster fight the vampire, Imogen Poots is the love interest and Toni Collette plays the mum.
Fright Night is set to for an October release in 2011.
