Ron Howard Directs Grand Theft Auto Movie

Ron Howard, one of the most profitable helmers in Hollywood, has taken up directing duties on Grand Theft Auto. GTA4 is due for release on XBox 360 and Playstation 3 this Spring. The series has so far sold over 65 million units worldwide. Howard, whose credits include The Da Vinci Code, Apollo 13 and A Beautiful Mind says his intention is for it to have a comic tone, which may upset fans of the game. Some synopsis are already circling the net, but we’ve heard the plot involves…

This is a VERY bad idea.  GRAND THEFT AUTO is a bloody, nasty, violent video game that'll now get completely whitewashed (PG-13 approved, kids!) by the most wholesome, vanilla-est director in the biz!

hmmm...

I actually like the plot. Sort of like Smokin' Aces meets Bonnie and Clyde.

However, this will obviously suck just as every other video game movie.
