This is the first of a few new images from Darren Aronofsky's upcoming psychological/supernatural/who-the-hell-know-what thriller Black Swan. Take a look at the others below.

The movie is about a ballerina and her arch-rival and stuff and scenes of Natalie Portman TURNING INTO A FREAKING BLACK SWAN OMGWTF!!!???

Pretty creepy, huh? Not nearly as creepy as the trailer, here it is in case you missed it:

I may be in the minority here, but I'm hoping Black Swan is a return to the kind of ambitious, meditative storytelling Aronofsky displayed in The Fountain, rather than the more pedestrian effort that The Wrestler was. What do you think yoo how the movie looks so far?

I'm surprised people see this as a scandalous revelation, it's pretty much what I assumed to be the case anyway...

As someone in the comments says, dancing is acting, especially in this movie, and Natalie Portman only did 5 percent (!) of it. The producer didn't make the point of putting a gag on the dancer for nothing. Had the movie been made before cg was able to let an actor take credit for the dancing, would she still have won the Oscar? Oscars often reward hard training, physical transformations, and many assume Portman did hard physical work, learnt skills for the role - she didn't.

Couldn't disagree more, I did not walk away from that movie thinking Portman's performance was laudable because of her dancing ability.

New York Times - "Ms. Portman does most of her own dancing... The vision of Ms. Portman’s own body straining with so much tremulous, tremendous effort... grounds the story in the real".

Roger Ebert - "Portman's performance is a revelation... She has never faced a greater physical challenge (she prepared by training for 10 months)."

The special effects video which showed how Portman's face was digitally imposed on Lane's body was pulled from YouTube.
Portman didn't thank her dancer in any of her acceptance speeches.
Dancer was gagged until after the Oscars.
- Why play it down if it's a non-issue?...

I don't honestly care if she did the dancing or not. She is still the most beautiful actress EVER.

I'm not saying no one cares, I'm saying I don't care, and I'm shocked that people do. It's hardly the point of the movie. It's like if Jamie Foxx didn't do his own singing in Ray - still a great performance.

Ok, Natalie is beautiful.

...Except when she did that weird laugh during her Golden Globes acceptance speech.

That laugh made her seem like a dork, which is awesome in my book.
