Picked this up last week and what a blast.
The story concerns Chuck Greene who is entering a Running Man style game show where you win money for the amount of zombies you can kill in a certain time period. Greene is there because he needs cash to buy Zombrex, a medicine that keeps the zombie virus at bay but as usual, things go a bit Pete Tong when someone lets out the zombies.
Chuck escapes with his daughter and finds out he has been framed for the zombie release and so he has to fight to clear his name whilst keeping his daughter topped up on Zombrex.

This game is an absolute joy, yes the loading times are frustrating and something needs to be done about that if there's going to be a DR3 and, in my opinion, the hunt for Zombrex for oyur daughter is unneeded but there is just so much fun to be had from creating all manner of undead disposing weapons, the bucket drill is awesome as is the wheelchair machine post, although i think everyone will get a kick out of the lightsaber, yes using a flash light and some gems form the jewelry store you can wield like Luke.

Leveling up gives you all kinds of lovely extras like additional carry space, health and moves and depending on how you level up, for example if you level up through helping survivors you get more healthy or by killing zombies its more carry space then you can focus on what you want to do.

The side missions are mostly searching for stuff or survivors but they're still a blast and the main missions keep the story flowing but to be fair half the time i just took my nail bat, chainsaw paddle and drill bucket and hit the mall for some serious zombie slaying.

I'm wary of this because it's not done by the team that did the first game, it's not the 'A' team. It looks rough around the edges, and graphically doesn't look particularly improved, even though it's been about 5 years?

Does it have co-op mode?

I hear ya Sheridan and yes it has co-op mode, it also lets you play online and whatever money you win there you can transfer to your single player game.

The graphics aren't outstanding but they're certainly good enough to show body parts being severed in all their claret glory. I personally think its a vast improvement over the original, which i enjoyed but frustrated the hell out of me when trying to find a save point.

Fair enough. I haven't played it so I'm projecting what I think will be wrong with it. Co-op makes a huge difference, and the save points were a pain in the ass in the first one.

I think Aristotle wants more information.

The co-op mode also allows you to take the xp points and money to your single player game. I wish i could tell you more but i haven't gotten that far through with it yet :-)

An emotional ending to the game, ruined by the player's choice of costume -
