Where does this movie fall on the Psychological Thriller/Supernatural Gorefest scale?

It's not gory but it is ... lots of cracked fingernails and feathers sprouting, etc, but it's all shown without REALLY showing it, you know?

Much more psychological but doesn't cop out ala Shutter Island and I daresay Inception. You wonder what's real or not, but by the end they really let you know which and really carry the story on character instead of gimmicks.

There are a couple of "jump scares" that annoyed me, because I felt this film was so far above that. But mostly it's creepy imagery and unsettling character dynamics. Amazing acting too.  It's definately a horror film but ... it won't float a lot of horror fan boats if you know what I mean. It's really an artsy character drama that is also really scary.

Sounds more like a hardcore episode of Fringe than a conventional horror movie.

Actually, throw in a little Cronenberg and that's not far off.

I think the mirror intro represents Dalmatian Jaws in real life and Dalmatian Jaws in the forum.

Can't wait to see this, it's not out here 'til January though  Cry

Aronofsky has got the midas touch. Love everything he's made so far. He's definitely one of the greatest living directors.

'No Boob Policy'. Now that's an outrage.
