Despite the success of 'Paranormal Activity 2', the film's producers have decided that they want to leave the franchise alone now and not make a third movie.

IF ONLY! Yes Paramount have just announced that there will be a 'Paranormal Activity 3' to be released next year. To be fair, the standard so a far has been pretty reasonable. Also, considering the ridiculous amount of profit the films have made, who can blame them!  However, it is an inevitable downhill slope from here on out. With 'Saw' out of the way, 'Paranormal Activity' will comfortably fill its slot in the market. The baton has been passed. This will be a yearly fixture until it stops making money and, because of how cheap they are to make, that could be a while. Maybe when the money does eventually dry up, there will be a 'Paranormal Activity' and 'Saw' franchise union, like 'Freddie vs Jason'.

Picture this-

Shot in the style of 'Paranormal Activity'. Jigsaw haunts a house full of sexy, sinful teens, picking them off one by one in increasingly painful ways.

Actually we'll throw in 'Final Destination' as well.

Ok, I admit, the idea needs a bit of work but it's got potential.

I have the first one on dvd rental. I have to admit... I've watched 20 minutes and I'm too scared to continue. I'm living on my own at the moment and being alone in the place watching that is a bit much. Blair Witch gave me the shits first time I saw that, I can feel this is heading in the same direction.

After watching the first one in the theater, I had to nix the sleep mode on my laptop so it would serve as a night light. Utterly terrified as a 28 year old man. That hasn't happened since I was 14 and watched the exorcist.

Even crazier if you know my dad. Nicest guy in the world and pretty conservative. My only theory is that he forgot just how scary and profane it is. Though how you forget certain moments in that movie are beyond me.
