I really dislike it in comparison with the Raimi one, which was a lot more faithful to the original Steve Ditko design that hasn't been wildly deviated from in the comics.
The gloves are over-designed, it's an odd choice to have the webbing disappear randomly midway down his torso, and the costume looks rubbery...
Of course, without the mask we lose the full effect of the design, so a lot remains to be seen. The belt missing is weird. It's hard to tell if the belt has been torn off because of battle-damage (there looks like a shadow of it there, and a partial fragment on the right hand side) or if there's going to be some kind of web-cartridge belt and he's out of webbing...
Oh yeah, web-cartridges. Because it looks like Peter Parker is going to have to make web-shooters instead of organic webbing in this movie, take a look at the bumps on the wrists.
The costume already has a lot of fans all over the web though, including awesome indie comic book artist Corey Lewis
, who quickly uploaded his own interpretation of the costume:
What do you think, are you pleased or disappointed by the costume? And the most important question of all: can any future Spider-Man movie honestly compete with this:
