'Evil Dead' Remake Still Has Hope

It's seems Sam Raimi and Ghost House Pictures' Rob Tapert are still kicking around the idea of rebooting The Evil Dead. In a recent interview with Freep, the producer was asked about the status of the long-rumored project. Here's what he had to say...

"It's possible; we're looking at a script this month" Tapert said. "What's interesting about Evil Dead, is very few people saw it in the format we made it for, which is for the theater. ... I think Sam wants to embrace the ultimate experience in grueling terror and see it remade for a proper theatrical experience."

This has been rumoured so many times. The actor dude is too old. They would have to recast.

Absolute bullshit. If they want people to get the real experience in the theater they should just re-release it. Reboot means more money in their pocket, pure and simple.

Evil Dead was great because of HOW it was shot, not the script, not the universe ... it was a one time thing, lighting in three bottles.
