Ever since he was cast in
Christopher Nolan's Inception By Christopher Nolan, Director of The Dark Knight, people have been wondering exactly what role Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be playing in the next Batman film. Apparently some people prefer to mark time using Batman movies instead of years.
Well, worry no longer webheads!
[wrong comic, wrong publisher, wrong everything -Ed] Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been cast as Alberto Falcone, completing the standard triple line-up of villains for Nolan. This puts him alongside Tom Hardy's Bane and Anne Hathaway's Catwoman as the standard gangster.
Or is it? Fans of the comics know Alberto - son of
Batman Begins villain Carmine - as The Holiday Killer, a serial killer who commits his murders in accordance with, um, holidays. This suggests that a) the ongoing gangster subplot will be resolved and b) that the mob will be getting more screentime in this film.
There's just time for another small rumour: the name of Juno Temple (indie actress) has cropped up alongside the casting words of 'street-smart' Gotham girl. What could this mean? Could it be... Robin?
