Ian McShane cast in Jack the Giant Killer

Ian McShane, who stars as the notorious Blackbeard in Disney's upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, has been cast Jack the Giant Killer. The film is X-Men director Bryan Singer's take on the popular Jack and the Beanstalk folk tale, and has been scripted by Christopher McQuarrie, Singer's Usual Suspects collaborator.

McShane will play King Bramwell, father of the princess that Jack (played by Nicholas Hoult of About A Boy, Skins and X-Men: First Class) must save from the evil clutches of giants.
