Now we're being spoiled.
Back in the days when Sam Raimi was in charge of the Spider-Man movie franchise, the gap between films grew by an extra year each time. Apparently that's not good enough anymore, so when
The Amazing Spider-Man rolls around, we'll be content in the knowledge that the inevitable sequel will already be in pre-production.
James Vanderbilt has been a name associated with the Spider-Man franchise back when we were discussing a possibly second trilogy. He was attached to the fourth movie, then brought on to write a potential two-part fifth and sixth films. Now he's back on board to write the second film, having worked on the first script with Spider-Man stalwart Alvin Sargen. Does this mean we're in for a two-part opening to the rebooted franchise?
There's plenty of time to find out the answer to that particular question as
The Amazing Spider-Man won't sling his web across your screens [ew -Ed] [stop putting words in my mouth - Ed] until July 3rd 2012.
In the mean time, let the villain rumours commence! Let's hope Mysterio and the Hypno Hustler finally get their time to shine.
