So many of the fx look ropey. Moment for moment, First Flight was much better than this. Still, will watch, sure it'll be ok.

They took what could have been groundbreaking FX and instead used it as a crutch. Very sad. It looks like Who Framed Roger Corman.

I love their excuse for why the mask has to come off all the time. Better than Tobey Maguire's being 'accidentally torn off' in every fight. Is anyone that bothered about seeing Ryan Reynolds' full face constantly?

The mask is a visual effect, so it's different from the Spider-Man thing because it costs money to have him with the mask on, whereas in Spider-Man they could have used Tobey Maguire's stunt double with the mask on and it would have cost them less.

It wouldn't cost them that much, he just wears an actual eye mask on set and they colour it in post (plus they already have the fx in the database from other sequences), it's more to do with studio's obsession in showing the actor's face as much as possible.

We are in agreement, however, than a tiny strip of green does not protect one's identity, right?

I also love how the magical suit automatically assumes the user will become a vigilante and break countless laws that will make it imperative to hide his identity.

It's not really vigilantism in the traditional sense of the word because Green Lanters are essentially THE SPACE POLICE. And by taking the oath, they are signing up for the whole crime-fighting thing. But yeah, domino masks do not hide your identity.

Robert Winston looks stupidly young in that pic - you think he's had surgery?
