For me, it's the ending of April Fool's Day. It's such an awesome film but has such a bullshit ending.

Oh absolutely. Watched it a few months ago. It's not such a terrible idea for an ending, but it needed much smarter filmmakers to pull it off. They did use the same ending again recently in a slasher film and did it much better. I won't say which one because it'll ruin it.

My biggest letdown in horror was the same film, twice - Ring 2.

Both the American, and the Japanese version were absolutely horrible. I'd even been saving the Japanese Ring 2 for over a year for a special occasion, like normal people would a bottle of champagne.

Hmm... I wasn't that partial to Ring 2 (Jap) myself when I first saw it, but having seen it again (and understanding it more), I actually really liked it. I think part of what made me not like it first time round was that there was a new main character, and the freaky-looking kid had powers and they tried to explain the phenomenon. It was a bit much to take in but now, I like it that way because it really adds to the mythology that no-one escapes Sadako's clutches...

Still better than Ring 0 though... Have you seen that one Sheridan?

Ring 0 is unwatchable. It's Carrie in slow motion starring Japanese soap actors.

The ending to Friday the 13th Part 8 is pretty shit too. So they drown him in acid and he rises to the surface as a child? What?!

Ring Two. Definitely. Such a dull, boring, awful mess of a movie. The only thing that's worth watching is the ending, it's just ridiculously awesome!

The Grudge is awful as well. After many people hyping it up to be soooo scary and sooo amazing, I expected at least a half decent film. Wrong!

Ooh, have to say the Halloween remake was one of the biggest disappointments to happen recently.  But since it was foolish of me to think Rob Zombie could pull it off, I'm gonna have to go with Eli Roth's continuation in the genre.  For one specific thing, I'd have to go with the first Resident Evil movie.  Simply tragic.

I am Legend

90 odd mins of Will Smith wandering round an empty city talking to his dog and not much else.

Thought he was meant to be battling mutants, didn't see much of that.

Needed way more action. At least "The Omega Man" saw Heston kicking mutant butt!

House of 1000 Corpses. We all didn't know what to expect from Rob Zombie's film debut. The story was a great idea, but I would have liked to see someone else direct it.

Although I haven't seen that particular Chainsaw Massacre, I think it should be noted that only one guy gets chainsawed in the original flick.

Right now I can't think of an ending that I was letdown by, even though I am sure that there are some.  But full movie wise...Vacancy and Cloverfield.  Both looked like serious awesome movies and were crap.

I caught Vacancy at the cinemas and I enjoyed it for the most part. It was very Hitchcockian (especially the opening credits which are a blatant hommage) and it's really good up to the ending which is a bit underwhelming and also annoying, because (and I won't spoil it here) if they were brave and kept what they implied happening earlier in the film - rather than backtrack on it, then audiences wouldn't have felt as cheated as they did by the ending.

Folks have been telling me to see Vacancy for a while now but I'm dubious of Luke Wilson.

Cloverfield was a wild, awesome ride with a lot more brilliant parts than folks give it credit for.

For a "gimmick" movie, Cloverfield was done quite well.  There are only a few minor complaints I have about it, but even those are pretty nitpicky.  It's a nice fun, visceral amusement park ride.  Expect exactly that and the movie will deliver.
