OK so everywhere i look now there are promotional standees, website skins etc etc for games like CoD 4 that aren't even out till November, telling you to pre-order, is it me or has this kind of marketing got a bit nuts recently?

I mean, i know you have always been able to pre-order but it seems that every tom dick and Lara Croft is at it and like with CoD 4, you don't even get anything as a bonus for doing it!. Personally i am going to end up getting game burn out. They are so in your face these days, which i know they have to be because there are so many fighting for the market out there but I'm so numb against it now.

So am i full of crap or are you with me?

At our age I think the buzz of games is generally fading. Nothing impresses me any more. I haven't plugged the 360 in for three months. I bought Crysis 2, I won Assassins Creed 2 in a quiz and didn't take the wrapping off either. The occasional iPod game is enough for me. I wish I still cared though, cause I do miss that feeling, of staying up 'til 5am on a game and feeling sick for doing it.

I think you're right mate, those were the days when you and your mates all made sure you got the same game on the same day and hooked in at the same time to blast the night away with pizza and beer and the odd coffee if you were flagging.
I also think a lot of the games are just too similar, good on LA Noire for doing something different but CoD, Battlefield etc etc same old same old for me
