Ben Affleck is set to direct an adaptation of Harlan Coben's ridiculously readable thriller 'Tell No One'. The book has already been adapted for screen once before, but it was all French and subtitley so most people probably missed it. 'Tell No One' tells the story of a pediatrician who becomes suspect number one in a series of murders that claimed the life of his wife…or so he thought. The script is by Chris Terrio, who also penned Affleck's upcoming Iran hostage crisis flick 'Argo'.
Having almost detroyed his career with films such as 'Pearl Harbor' and 'Gigli', Affleck has rebuilt his reputation in recent years as a director of taut, intelligent thrillers, making him an ideal choice to direct this. Although I did thoroughly enjoy Guillaume Canet's 2006 'Tell No One', I thought one thing it got wrong was changing the bad guy from a man to a woman- she was nowhere near as menacing. Hopefully Affleck sticks closer to the novel with that aspect.
