Park Chan-Wook's Oldboy, the Korean revenge flick based on the
best-selling manga is getting the Hollywood remake treatment from director Spike Lee.
For a little while it looked as though the remake would be coming to us from tinsel-town juggernauts Steven Spielberg and Will Smith, but Spike Lee has now been confirmed as the director. Whether or not Will Smith is still being looked at to star remains to be seen, you'd have to assume he would be, seeing as how the man is considered FOR EVERYTHING, but if his lack of participation in Tarantino's upcoming Django Unchained can be seen as indicative of anything, it may be that Smith is disinterested in starring in violent adult fare at present.
