Matt Damon on the set of Elysium

These are the first images of  District 9 director Neill Blomkamp's upcoming sci-fi epic Elysium. We know very, very little so far about the project, Blomkamp seems to have taken a leaf out of the Nolan/Abrams playbook. What we do know is that it's set on another planet in the future, that Jodie Foster is a world leader, and that Matt Damon, at some stage, will look like this:





That exo-skeleton is a bit bare bones, isn't it? Wouldn't meet with Tony Stark's approval, that's for sure. Could it be a weapon of some kind? Blompkamp has said that there will be similarities with this film and District 9, and the weapons in that movie were certainly a highlight for some. You don't see guns that shoot pigs everyday.
