An actor friend of mine has been asked to present an award at the stage version of the BAFTAs.

He is asking whether people who present an award at the Oscars or BAFTAs ever go on that same night to win one themselves for another category or if it is the kiss of death.

I can't recall any myself.

Can anybody think of when that's happened?

I think it has happened, but I honestly cannot think of a specific example.

If we can't think of an examples I don't think he's going to present.

Weeeeeeeeeell ... I'd assume, if they're at the point of asking for presenters, the votes are all in, yes? Does it make a difference then? Or just kind of a pride thing? Dont mean that in a bad waay.

Very good point about finding out if the window for voting has closed. I don't know the full story, but I'll speak to him later. I don't think it's a pride thing.
