Are you kidding? How can you not find that line up on that poster absolutely awesome? If I was 18 I would literally have exploded seeing that in a cinema foyer. Even now it's totally badass.
The first movie was great fun but missing a few too many pieces. Now it has Arnie, Bruce (for more than 10 seconds), Chuck Norris and Van Damme. If I can't get excited about that I might as well fling myself off a cliff.
And Stallone's got more badass facial hair this time too.

This poster is awesome in the same way The Muppets is awesome. Very poorly designed, but too awesome not to love.
If this was a different cast it would make our movie poster hall of shame. WITH this cast, it's phenomenal.

...no. A cast doesn't make a poster good. Just...no. Get excited by the casting announcement, by all means, but the poster is garbage.

If a poster causes a rush of excitement to go through me then it's done something right.
Seeing Nicole Kidman backwards with inverted text or whatever's considered a good poster these days, does not have that effect on me.
My only problem with this christmas tree of delights is that Jet Li has been replaced by some random woman. What are they trying to do, court the female audience with that? Good luck.

It's not doing anything right on a VISUAL level. I'm probably just as excited for Avengers as you are for this, if not more, but those teaser posters they just released are as bland as it gets. If a poor photoshop collage appeals to you over good design just because you like the cast it doesn't mean the poster is doing something right, it means the movie is an easy sell. Much better cast IMO.

To me, the comparison with the Avengers actually shows why I like the poster, The Avengers also has an amazing action line up too but the posters for that are dull and lifeless and elicit hardly any reaction. Those are the sucky posters, bland and too reserved.
Of course the EX2 poster would be rubbish with another cast, but with this one it showcases them in great fashion. I don't think the photoshopping is especially bad, yeah it's obvious they weren't really standing on top of each other, but I see worse examples almost every week.
