GI Joe: Retaliation - Teaser Trailer

What's that? You couldn't be less interested in a trailer for the sequel to a movie as terrible as the first GI Joe movie? Time to adjust your thinking. Three things happen in this trailer that make it worth watching: 1) 50 seconds in The Rock leaps into a well 2) They play a remix of Seven Nation Army 3) A bunch of ninjas fight on a cliff after drawing their swords in a suitably dramatic fashion. Watch:



See? Those three things happened. And even if that is the most entertained you will be by the entire movie, it was worth it. GI Joe: Retaliation is, believe it or not, directed by Jon M Chu of Justin Bieber: Never Say Never fame, and stars Dwayne Johnson and Adrianne Palicki. It hits cinema June 2012.

Tross, I had the exact same thought. As horrible as the other one was, LEvitt rocked it.

I'm the opposite to you guys, I actually thought the previous one was surprisingly good, except Joseph Gordon Levitt who was badly miscast and embarrassed himself. eg The chase through Paris in the biosuits was thrillingly shot, and the guy playing Storm Shadow was awesome.

I think this one is a step backwards. "We were set up. We're all that's left." Is just about the biggest cliche in modern action movies. The number of characters they've lost between the two films is completely ridiculous (there are like 3 remaining out of about 30, and it looks like Tatum dies/is sidelined in the opening sequence). It's basically a reboot which I'd bet is the result of some producer/contractual fallout somewhere. I get the feeling a lot of the people saying this looks better than the first didn't actually watch the first.

Having said that it looks alright.

It does look like utter popcorn empty head cinema but thats not a bad thing, especially with (and i know im going to get pounded on here) added Bruno, wasnt interested in the first one but this looks entertaining enough to at least watch it on DVD

Then Bruce Willis popped up.

Now I'm sold.

The Bruce Willis thing was the weakest part of the trailer for me.
