The prolific viral campaign for Prometheus has continued with the release of a new promo video. This time it’s introducing David, the android character played by Michael Fassbender.
With Prometheus due for release in a little over a month, Fassbender’s very cold and calculated-looking android David is introduced to audiences in a short clip from Weyland Industries.
http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi2468324121/By his own admission, he can perform almost anything asked of him, including things that humans would deem ‘unethical’. Cue flashbacks to Ian Holm's Ash from Alien... So it’s exciting to see just how this will play out in the movie itself. There’s something very Data from Star Trek about him, but I suspect David won’t be half as fun in that respect.
Of course this follows on from the previously released TED 2023 clip starring Guy Pearce as Peter Weyland, founder of Weyland Industries, and the money behind the Prometheus expedition. There’s been a steady stream of trailers and footage released over the last couple of months – as if the anticipation wasn't already high enough!
Prometheus is arguably the most eagerly awaited sci-fi movie of recent times, directed by the legendary Ridley Scott and starring an impressive acting ensemble (Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Charlize Theron, to name a few).
Prometheus is due for release on 1st June in the UK and 8th June USA.
