Paul Thomas Anderson's follow up to There Will Be Blood; The Master, has had its first clip released today. I've been waiting for this one for a long time!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oZDKFoCqAw

The Master stars Joaquin Phoenix as a young drifter who becomes the right hand man of cult leader 'The Master', set in the 1950s. He sure seems to have pulled himself together after that weird fake (but not fake... but fake) rapper phase he went through. Remember that? Huh? Remember? ...No?

Amy Adams and PTA-vet Phillip Seymour Hoffman add weight to the supporting cast for an incredibly interesting looking movie. It's pretty haunting stuff, and unlike most of the other trailers floating around at the moment.

Paul Thomas Anderson has pretty much created masterpiece after masterpiece with strikingly emotive, complex and imaginative work - Boogie Nights, Magnolia, There Will Be Blood... *ahem* Punch-Drunk Love... Is The Master set to be another modern classic?

The Master is set for a October 12 release in the US. UK release currently unconfirmed.

Dalmatian Jaws also posted this after yours. Since they were much the same commentaries and there are two other Gurney posts I put his up for the sake of variety. Please add your thoughts in the comments of the front page version though. This is Dalmatian Jaws' fault.

Isn't it always? Speaking of which, what happened to Mason?

Ah the elusive Adam Mason. I don't know, I haven't spoken to him directly in a very long time, he just pops up with a review of a movie now and again. No one can predict his next move.
