Maybe it was expected, maybe it was not, but either way the Warner Bros. hold on the film project must be a kick in the teeth for all involved. 

"Guess we need to find the job centre then.....?"

The actors picked to play the various roles of Superman, Batman and the other League members are now free to move on to other work, and if the movie resumes at a later date it will not before the writer’s strike resolves itself, and then hopefully before summer or autumn.

The first warning sign was when Jessica Biel turned down Wonder Woman. How awful must the script have been for her to say no.

I don't care if this cast is shitty, I'd rather the film existed than not. At the least the effects will be good.

As I've said before, there's no point in the film without Routh or Bale as Superman and Batman. It would just be better for continuity purposes.
