Not content with trying the “re-invent” horror films, such as remake of the “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, which was probably more memorable for Jessica Biel, in a white top, in the rain, than any chainsaw action, the Michael Bay co-owned Platinum Dunes production are moving on to their next project.
They are teaming up with New Line Cinema to make a new “Nightmare on Elm Street” film. With their previous handling of “Texas..” and “The Amityville Horror”, its pretty likely its going to be a not to gory or frightening remake of the Wes Craven original from 1984.
At the moment, details are few and far between. No screenwriter is working on the project at the moment due to the on going strike, so its unknown if its going to be a by the book remake of the original or it the history and back story of Freddy is going to be re written or altered in any form.
