'Ow do horror lovers, here's a quick peek at some of the fiendish flicks coming our way in 2008.
Starting with
The Ruins, based on the novel by Scott Smith it tells the tale of a group oh young hot-somethings (ooh there's original) who visit an ancient archaeological site deep in the Mexican jungle only to find something nasty living amongst the ruins. Due for release April 18th.
Next up we have
One Missed Call which is a remake of Takeshi Miike's original, which is is somewhat surprising seeing as that movie was about as scary as being threatened by Orlando Bloom, still, i suppose this could be a good thing, as remaking movies which were crap to begin with (Oceans 11 anyone) makes much more sense to me, anyhoo, have a gander and make up your mind
The Cottage is the 2nd feature from
London to Brighton Director Paul Andrew Williams and stars Andy 'Golum' Serkis and features Doug 'Pinhead' Bradley in the yarn of two brothers who kidnap the daughter of a local crime boss and stow her away to the titular building where they discover a rather unpleasant secret. This looks very much in the vein of 2006's
Severance, which in my book aint a bad thing. Catch it on 14th March.
And finally we have the God of Zombie horror himself, George A. Romero with
Diary of the Dead. Adopting the same style as
Cloverfield, George's fourth walking dead flick follows a group of film students as they attempt to make their own independent horror movie, when, rather annoyingly for them as they only have the camera on weekend cheap rate lease (OK i might've made that bit up) the recently deadified start returning to life. But rather than flee the zombie hordes, they decide to document the horrific events instead, i hope they've got insurance.
Till later fiends.
