Dammit. I bet there's no Region 1 available anywhere on the internet cause they're delaying it for the stupid American remake.

I guess I should get more into Zombie films!

Does anyone remember this film?

Awesome list, but the original Re-animator should be there too.

Technically and thematically, 28 Days Later isn't a Zombie flick. The infected aren't dead and they represent rage, not impending doom, hence they rare hopeful ending.

Recently rewatched Return of the Living Dead and it's brilliant. Such a great riff on Romero's world.

Finally saw [REC] and it's amazing. Not certain it's a zombie flick either, couldn't tell if they died or not. But definately felt like a zombie flick.

I think Return Of The Living Dead was the first to introduce the idea of zombies wanting to eat brains. I may be mistaken though. Seeing them stagger about groaning "Brraaaaiinnss", and sometimes getting brains, is reason enough to see it.

The first or second Return of the Living Dead was the first zombie flick I ever saw. When I had insomnia when I was younger I'd sneak downstairs and watch the late night movies on Fox and such. One of these was on ... when I re-watched Return of the Living Dead recently I didn't remember the first half, but remembered things at the end. But I also remembered a scene on a bridge, which might be in the second one. Anyway, they had a really powerful affect on me. I didn't pick up on all the corny humor and hadn't seen Romero so didn't know what they were mocking. I just remember everyone getting nuked, the zombie getting on the radio and ordering more snacks by saying "send more paramedics" and the part where the dude is conscious as he dies and describes what dying feels like. So absolutely brilliant underneath all the silliness. And so depressing in a weird, fun way. Cause everyone always died, there was no hope. But everyone partied anyway. The dead were the true anarchists that the punks wanted to be.

And I also remember some scene were a zombie convinces his living girlfriend to "give up" her brains, and when she finally succombs to his pleads of "you don't understand how it feels!" he bits into her skull and she gasps orgasmically.

Did that actually happen? Or was I just one imaginatively perverted child?

Yeah I totally forgot about the part when the guy orders more "snacks" and tells 911 to order paramedics, thats hilarious! And I personally dont remember any scene where a zomble eats his girlfriends head, but I am not saying it didnt happen, I havent seen these flicks for a long time.
