DeNiro and Pacino - 'Righteous Kill' Teaser Trailer!

I sat down and re-watched Heat the other night and it reminded me how good DeNiro and Pacino are with the right material, granted they only shared one talky scene and a cup of coffee but they sparred like the heavyweights they are and it was a draw on points.
This time around they're good old NYC Cops who are after a vigilante killer who's been taking out the baddies.



There's a quality backup cast including the vastly underused Brian Dennehy plus John Leguizamo and, er, 50 Cent. It's been scribbled by Russell Gewirtz (Inside Man) and lensed by Jon Avnet who's probably best known for directing Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe but i wont hold that against him.



Mmm At the moment it's looking a little on the shallow side but with DeNiro and Pacino involved im hoping that there is a nice little twist and by twist i dont mean that, gasp, shock, horror, it's a cop who's the mysterious vigilante.

imdb has this down as still being in production but that trailer looks like they've got most of the footage to me. Keeping everything crossed for this as both stars could do with a return to form in my view.

They both look old, tired and past it. But what the hell. Strange how this combination is so exciting. De Niro and Dustin Hoffman. Nah. Al Pacino and George Clooney. Meh. But De Niro and Pacino. Can't wait.

they just put big names together and sell it...show their faces for 2 hours and send you home with a 10 dollar popcorn and 5 dollar dr pepper

Early reports have this as a gamble for studios in consideration of theaters. The actors names are the only thing possibly to carry it and rumor has been that it may suffer a straight to DVD release. I think it will hit the big screen.

Having seen the latest trailer, this really is starting to look like 88 Minutes part 2 (extremely cliched concept, dull direction etc).
