The trailers for 10,000BC threw off. I was expecting a different movie; something with epic battles between man and beasts alike. Something akin to Lord of the rings and Stargate. But I was wrong. I am not saying that it is a bad film. Just a little boring. I should have seen it coming since it had a pg-13 rating. You might call this a chick flick set in the past. Here is a brief summary of what it is about: There is a tribe with a woman in it who can see into the future. She predicts some soldiers will come by and take away people from the tribe. She also says that 2 people(I will call them Man and Woman) from the tribe will grow up to free their people and lead them in the future. So, years later, raiders do come and steal away people from the tribe. They abduct Woman. Story then unfolds on how Man goes after Woman and how he gets the help from neighboring tribes to help him. For you see, the raiders also stole people from other tribes. They end up in what can be described as a scene out of Stargate where you see pyramids, slaves building stone structures, and someone like Raa. So, why did it get a B. Well, there wasn't that much action. I really got tired of looking at CGI of elephants or mammoths as they were called back then. The only time it got interesting was when the giant ostriches attacked, but other than that, I was looking more at my watch than the movie. Why would chicks like this? Well, everything was done for the love of a woman. And so there ya go. Oh yea, did I mention that 99% of the actors are men wearing Tarzan-like clothing. This movie is defintinely not worth paying matinee prices for. I wouldn't even rent it, personally. Its not a bad movie, just not enough action. They really could have made this better, but as such, it gets a B. Guys, check, out Doomsday or vantage Point. Ladies, check out 10,000BC.
