The definitive list of shame starts here. With Jessica Simpson and Johnny Knoxville.

Nominate whoever you want below. Give a reason where you can. Once we've got a good number of nominations it'll go to a vote. The 'winners' list will get posted all around the net.

Hayden Christensen . . . if you've seen even one of the entries in his WHOPPING four film resume, you'd understand that not only does he deserve to be on this list, he also deserves to be flogged in public by giant apes.

That punishment may not be enough. Mark Wahlberg has been literally flogged by giant apes on film and it didn't stop him phoning in his performance in The Italian Job.

Quentin Tarantino. he should be hung from scaffolding and flayed alive. And then punished for his bad acting. Did I say bad? I meant TEAR MY OWN FUCKING EYES OUT AT THAT NOT-EVEN-GOOD-ENOUGH-FOR-A-BAD-DRAMA-SCHOOL PERFORMANCE.

Here's a question if you've seen Planet Terror and From Dusk 'Til Dawn - Why does Rodreguez always cast Tarantino as a depraved murderous sex pervert?

Another two votes here for Hayden "I act with my eyebrows" Christenson and Marky Mark. I don't care what he calls himself these days, he is Marky Mark of the Funky Bunch.

Marky isn't the greatest, but I just saw Boogie Nights again recently, and the boy did a bang-up job (pun intended). I liked him in The Departed, too. Haven't seen Shooter or The I-talian Job.

My 10 Worst, in no particular order...

Julia Roberts
Jake Gyllenhaal
Chuck Norris
David Caruso
William Shatner
Melanie Griffith
Halle Berry
(Oscar be damned. Go watch B.A.P.S. and tell me she doesn't belong here)
Steven Seagal
Kirsten "Snagglepuss" Dunst
J. Lo
- who keeps giving her money? A lousy actress and a spoiled diva bitch on the set as well

That's not even counting the Lindsay/Paris/Britney/Mariah cadre. They don't even rate the worst list.

I have to second, and/or third, Gyllenhaal and Caruso and Norris and Griffith and Berry . . . and Seagal . . . but the thing with J. Roberts and Shatner and Dunst is that, with the right role and director, they are A-list material. No seriously, I don't know if they have Boston Legal in the UK, but Shatner's role as a sleazy gun toting Republican is comic gold. And Roberts has Erin Brokovich under her belt, and even Dunst has Interview with a Vampire and Marie Antoinette . . .

Why don't we turn our guns on actors/actresses that couldn't turn in a good performance under threat of nuclear holocaust, such as: Timothy Olyphant, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Orlando Bloom, John Malkovich, Susan Sarandon, Jon Lovitz, Eva Mendes, Michelle Redriguez, and the entire cast of "Heroes"

What's wrong with the Cast of Heroes? They aren't that bad because I'm sure there is much worse there out in the world.. Wow that be a complete holocaust there with losing half the society that we thought we knew.

Heroes is actually blessed with a very good cast and the fine direction helps them keep any over-acting in check.

When looking at a sci-fi film or TV, people must understand that there is a certain pantomime performance attached to it which is very difficult to avoid.  As with all good actors, they play the roles which are presented to them, and I think they play them very well.

It is much like comparing the acting style of Robert De Niro to that of Lon Chaney Jr.  Both acting styles are quite similar, using their physical size to fill up the screen as much as possible which helps in their portrayals, the difference is that Robert De Niro has been acting in an age where more "realistic" acting is important.

Lon Chaney Jr put in a superb performance against a surreal backdrop in The Wolf Man, De Niro put in a fine performance in Raging Bull.  If you must judge the cast in Heroes, judge them based on what their roles are within that surreal story, and how well they portray those characters.

Angelina Jolie!  I'm not pleased with her upcoming roll in the movie "Wanted" which would of been an awesome flick if they had stuck to the graphic novel.  Instead, Jolie wanted creative control over her character so she could say cheesy lines like, "Your father died yesterday in the rooftop of the Metropolitan Building. He was one of the greatest assassins who ever lived. And the other one is behind you."  She is very good looking though, so I guess that's something.

Wait, that is NOT a good line? *confuddled*

I like Jolie, not only is she smoking hot but she is a good actress, and one of the few female Hollywood icons around at the moment.

Beside the fact that she is in Hackers, and that would normally be good enough for me, she has shown that she offers a depth that few actresses have offered in the past decade or so.

She was good in the following:

Gia
Pushing Tin
Girl, Interrupted
Gone in Sixty Seconds
Tomb Raider (Yeah, go ahead and boo me, I don't give a shit, I like both TR films!  What did you guys honestly expect?  The videogame barely had a story or characters to base a movie on, get over yourselves!)

I've watched two and a half episodes of Heroes.

Out of that two and a half, only ten seconds were watchable, and that's when the cheerleader was bending over to tie her shoe.

I haven't seen an hour long drama with such awful writing and boring characters and convoluted plot since I tried to watch NCIS.

That main kid, the one that goes forward in time and learns about the virus?

He.
is.
BORING.

The Asian time traveler is pretty cool I guess, but every other person was forgettable.

Of course, it's not totally their fault. The writing is at the level of a soap opera, and there's probably very good actors working in Soaps, there's just no way you'd know it. But judging on Heroes alone, all of them will fade into obscurity as this ratings deprived second season brings their world to an end once and for all.

When I interviewed Uwe Boll I asked if he would ever reconsider remaking one of his movies and why that one, his answer was Alone in the Dark without Tara Reid
