Oh thank god, someone with brains.

Did you ever state the exact moment the film jumped the shark for you? Here are my top choices:

[1] The animated prairie dog opening shot.

[2] The magnetic alien corpse that can pull metal through the air but hasn't effected the metal in that warehouse for 19 years.

[3] Indiana Jones surviving a ground zero atomic explosion in a refrigerator.

[4] The exposition dialogue.

[5] Indiana Jones as a chatterbox.

[6] The giant animated jungle mower.

[7] Tarzan Shia and his monkey army.

[8] Surviving three waterfalls so enormous they tear the heavy metal vehicle to shreds but leave all the people intact.

[9] Mayan warriors who apparently encase themselves in clay and wait for weeks for random people to walk into their temple.

[10] The fact that Marion has no relation to the story and acts like a helpless victim.

[11] All the godamn talking!

[12] The giant mayan temple that's actually a spaceship/inter dimensional teleportation device/trap/crappy special effect

All that bothers and the  of Speed Racer was ok. wow. I guess we watched two totally different speed racers man. I remember that Royalitan dude talking about business and how racers aren't exactly racers any more out of his ass, racer x talking about the greater good. i swear 96% of the movie was talking. Hell even during the race scenes they talked. Even the damn monkey talked in that movie. Indiana Jones needed to have talking to explain what they found. If they didn't explain anything you would be lost because it's in a different language. And when you watch Indiana it was made for new audiences. I think as whole as in people who watch these movies, we nit pick way to god damn much. We look to much into special effects, little things that everyone notices, and totaly forget the story yes it was aliens but remember in the 50's space exploration was huge and fit the timeline. The whole refrigerator scene you can survive that he was encased in lead. It even zooms in on the word lead. The only not real about that part is that he banged to shit. OH yeah to wesdol #10 yeah marion was Mutt's mom and Indiana's love interest. the 3 second tarzan thing that everyone is bitching about. The purpose for that is it gave Mutt the idea to swing to catch up to everyone and dont forgot doesnt Indiana swing in all of them.

The movie shattered my suspension of disbelief so many times.  I understand that it is Indiana Jones and is going to be pulpy, but there are limits.  Monkey swinging, nuke fridging, pointless Mayans popping up in several scenes, cars driving down trees, props from the local Spencer's Gifts, and CG that can be spotted from a mile away just wouldn't let me lose myself in the movie, no matter how many times I tried.

This Indy just didn't feel dirty.  That's really the only way I can describe one of my biggest gripes.  It felt more like a Back to the Future movie (a pisspoor one at that) than an Indiana Jones movie.

There's a new phrase going around the net now - 'Jump The Shark' has been replaced with 'Nuke The Fridge'.

I love it. And since "Jump the Shark" originated from Happy Days, it's only fitting from a film that felt like it should star The Fonz.

You can also now say, "This film magnetized the alien" or "Wow, that movie really Combed Shia's Hair" or "It was ok, but it kinda reminded me of the tail end of Spielberg's career."

Ok, not at catchy, let's stick with yours.
