Will Knightley join the ‘Damned’?

The willowy pout machine that is Keira Knightley is reported to be eyeing up a part in yet another movie; a leading role in F Scott Fitzgerald’s upcoming biopic, The Beautiful and Damned.

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that the Atonement actress, currently starring in The Duchess, is in negotiations to take on the role Zelda Sayre; the tempestuous wife of the American novelist.  The movie will focus on the jazz icons’ love of living life to the maximun and their volatile marriage, which is said to have been the inspiration behind many of the couples’ novels.

The Beautiful and Damned - which takes its title from Fitzgerald’s second novel of the same name - will be directed by Nick ‘The Notebook’ Cassevetes.  The screenplay is said to have been written by Hanna Weg. 

Filming is expected to begin next April.
