Any news on Red Dawn remake?

Hollywood has been doing remakes and rehashes of older movies lately. I was wondering if anyone heard anything about a remake of Red Dawn? If you don't remember this one, its about  some kids in a mid western town who are invaded by Cuban/Russian soldiers. It tells the story about how they formed a resistance group called the Wolverines to fight back. It had some big names stars like Patrick Swaze and Powers Booth. I hope they do a remake. Any news>?

For me, it's a film that seems very much of its time. You could say what you wanted about the Russians, but today's enemy are the Islamic extremists, and they don't tend to invade.

The only news out there is they've announced there will be a remake. - Nothing else is known at this point.
