The man behind bringing The Terminator, Alien, Predator, the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park and even Iron Man to life on the big screen most recently, has sadly passed away after succumbing to a 7-year battle with myeloma - a form of blood plasma cancer.

Stan Winston died at his Malibu home on June 15th in the presence of his family - he was 62.

As you may have read on Movie-Moron, his world-famous Stan Winston Digital effects team had recently been working on "Terminator 4" as well as being linked to another "Jurassic Park" sequel and video-game adaptation "The Suffering".

We here at Movie Moron, pass our condolences onto his family and loved ones. Please, share your memories of Stan's great Academy Award-winning work below.

The guy is almost single handedly responsible for cinema's greatest modern fx/character designs. Aliens, Predator, Terminator, Jurassic Park... When we complain about cgi in a movie, it's his stuff that we're crying out for. They were monsters that felt like they were in the same place as the actors, monsters that were fascinating to discover.

I even quite liked the cheesy horror movie he directed, Pumpkinhead.

Yeah, it's scary to think he's only two years older than my dad.

What a track record. I just looked him up on IMDB and do you know what excited me the most?

Leviathan. He worked on Leviathan. The greatest Alien rip-off ever made ... that it is. I LOVED this flick as a kid.
