Is this the face of the next Catwoman?

It was inevitable that rumours would start to circulate in Hollywood about possible characters and actors who could be appearing in the next Batman released from Warner Bros. We've all heard the Johnny Depp for The Riddler rumours and Philip Seymour Hoffman for The Penguin... but now Garbage lead singer turned actress Shirley Manson has thrown down the gauntlet for the role of Catwoman.

Speaking to MTV News in the USA about her current acting role in TV series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" she is openly quoted as saying that Michelle Pfeiffers portrayal of Selina Kyle in the 1992 movie "Batman Returns" was "more cute than fierce" and that Halle Berry "wasn't quite right" in her 2004, critically panned "Catwoman" spin-off.

Manson's current acting role is also her first, playing the T-1000 model Terminator currently causing chaos in the life of heroine Sarah Connor and son John. Her role as the cold and ruthless T-1000 is one that she see's as similar to that of Catwoman, referring to the comic book character as being "difficult"  and in need of being fully realised... a job she feels she is well prepared for!

Why does ANYONE think the next Batman movie is being cast now, have they ever observed how films are made?? This movie is about 4 years away for God's sake.

Michelle Pfeiffer was brilliant as Catwoman, in what people forget was a pretty realistic treatment. She doesn't get the huge credit she deserves.

Terminator TV is the worst thing being broadcast right now. Worse that reality television. It's lame, boring, action-less, and silly.

So yeah, makes sense they'd cast her.

Oh yes, and as much fun as it is to speculate, this flick isn't coming out for a long, long time.

Apparently I heard that Angelina Jolie has been tipped to play Catwoman but even more interesting is that Cher! Yes Cher! is highly tipped to play catwoman. Well from what Christopher Nolan said in a recent interview, If he decided to do another film, which he inevitably will do, he might try Catwoman and have Cher play the role as a Vamp in her Twilight years so its sounds to me like Nolan wants to try a different take on character, maybe more dark!!

I think that he should either bring Harley Quinn into it or The Riddler and i hope to god that he doesnt bring Robin in! How bad would that be??!

There is no way in hell that Cher will be Catwoman. Or Angelina Jolie. Angelina Jolie comes from entertainment editors on publications going "What story can we cook up today? Batman is popular right now. Which actress has everyone heard of?" The screenwriters have said they would prefer to stay away from The Penguin and Catwoman.

I watched the first episode of Sarah Connor season 1 and it was very good. By the looks of those scenes above, the quality has taken a real nose dive. Shame. Always wondered how they were going to drag out the Terminator story for hours upon hours without the budget to go after the judgement day.
